So....will the Bengals make a move for Kirk Cousins? I suspect not and to be honest I'm not sure that they should as I do like Jake Browning.
Having said that, the main problem with back up QB's based on personal observation, is that they may be good for 2,3 or even 4 games but then they start to struggle as defences figure them out and they start to wilt under the mental and physical pressure of being a starter.
Would that happen to Browning?
At least we're 2-0 (amazingly) and next up are the Vikings who are showing that they may not be as good as I thought they were at the beginning of the season...
I can't see them going for Cousins (he might want more than vet minimum!).
The play calling for Browning is nicely simplified compared to the madness they try to dial up for Joe, but it can be schemed against easier. That said, I have more confidence in Browning being QB1 than bringing someone new in...the known flaws are there (3 int's from really bad throws) and you can work around it easier than working with someone new from day 1.
MN - JJ McCarthy has an ankle issue, so might not play vs us...which would be nice! A backup battle in Minnesota....
