All well and good about the backers and financial clout. But it didnt stop us selling a striker last january for £1.2m and replacing him with one for £70k who was worth about £50k.

Hammer is right. The sport is the interesting part the fans should concentrate on. Its all about the glory at the moment. Its sad that we beat Wigan, and people are jumping to talk about STFC in the Premier League and things like that. We just beat a top flight team, enjoy it and look forward to the draw.

re: attendance.

Is it safe to assume that something didn't go right in counting the attendance?!

BBC have it as 10, 488 - clearly wrong.
Most other places, 13238
Official site has it as 13,935 - seems more realistic. maybe they originally forgot the Wigan fans Smiley

I thought someone had said that the entry system went haywire, and that they were manually checking tickets towards the end.

I guess if that was true, it would explain why they took so long to announce the crowd & also why the numbers may not be quite what was expected.

They were letting people in manually, but for me they pushed a button and the light came on so I think I was counted.

But someone said they were waving people through near kick off?

Are attendances reported as tickets sold, or those that actually make it through the turnstyle?

The turnstiles in the Arkells were just rushing people through at 2.45pm and weren't checking either tickets of cards.

I put our season tickets in the machine out of habit but the kid just told us to walk through. The gate thingy certainly wasn't working and didn't make its usual unlocking click before you walked through.

I joined the shortest queue at the Arkells and that was still long. Must of been hundreds going through without being checked/counted.
