2 coats found with the wrong badges, been investigated by adidas and it was a mistake when putting the order together.  Swansea don't even use/sell those jackets, and have only signed up with Adidas this year.

One thing for sure is, that this would have blown over without any comment if the fan that publisized would have just gone back to the shop and swapped his jacket.  Because of this, and the washbag picking up on it this it has now jepordised the renewing of our contract with adidas, which they are talking about at the moment.  Apparently due to this "fan", Swansea, Stoke, Rangers and other major clubs have contacted adidas to ask for an investigation, and adidas are not happy with STFC because of the bad publicity (that has been raised by one of it's own fans)

2 Jackets FFS, well done, some people should think about who will suffer before posting some stuff on social media or blogs, I hope you don't moan when we are wearing Macron kits after next season.

Adidas have given us the best kits in my memory.  It looks like we will be back to tin pot kits after next season.  The manager of the club shop ain't happy.  Oh she would also had some choice words for Fatbury  Cheesy

On another note, apparently our away kit next year is something special.  Picked by the shop manager who chose the blue third shirt 2 seasons ago, and our away shirt this season so she has good taste.  The shite home shirt last season was picked by Fitton.  Grin

So because we're little old Swindon we need to keep quiet when there's a suspicion that something untoward has happened with the goods we're ordering from the supplier?!  Bollocks to that.  Not really sure why you put fan in quotes.  He did precisely the right thing in publicising the issue - otherwise the true extent of the problem would never have been known.

As for Adidas, this will probably spur them in to tightening up their quality control procedures - which is no bad thing.  They screwed up.  Not sure if an apology has been given, but one would certainly be in order.

I agree with you, but it's got fuck all to do with little old Swindon and I don't know where you are coming from with that.  If you are happy with fans making the club look like mugs to other fans out there as well as damaging future deals for the clubs then fair enough.  Publicising this is the same as booing the players while the game is still going on, makes no sense.

I put "fan" because he has potentially harmed the club.  If it was having a go a adidas then fair enough, but what good can come from putting the blame on the club.

OK, see where you were coming from.  I hadn't read it that the fan was having a go at the club...just that he thought the club had been victim to taking receipt of a consignment of suspect goods.

Adidas made our club look like mugs by sending us dodgy merchandise.
Publicizing it made Adidas look like mugs because it was there fault.
Potentially harmed the club? whats the worst that could happen Adidas (who fucked up) stop making our templated identikits?

No it didn't, maybe in the world of football it did, but to other clubs fans it made STFC look like mugs

We go back to tin pot kit manufacturers where there is less money involved to benefit the club and the image of the club takes a step backwards.  Having a top kit manufacturer all helps the image and professionalism of the club.

Don't get me wrong, If a major manufacturer has fucked up then I am all for creating a hoo ha about it.  But when there is any chance of making the club you support look bad, when it could affect sales of goods which affects the finances of the club and when it potentially harms any future deals that the club try to put in place I don't see the need to publicise and shout about it.  Just go back, point out the problem and let the club deal with it.  The club were totally unaware before they took the jackets back, at least give them a chance to sort it out before shouting about it.

I'm sorry but that is bollocks, and if Adidas and the club really feel like that I'm disgusted with them too.

Adidas are a premium supplier charging premium prices. The only thing they should be saying is sorry to the club/fans for their "QA" not doing its job properly.

If they throw a hissy fit over this then they are clearly do not have premium customer service.

Likewise when we play shit we shouldn't talk about it on the internet because it might make the club look bad or the players cry.

Not anymore. Adidas are going to bomb the CG because we're going to seriously harm their massive profit margin.

Evening...

I was approached by the supporter, as were several other news outlets, with his pictures and evidence that Adidas had fucked up their merchandise for STFC to ultimately endorse, then sell.

If you read the article - http://thewashbag.com/2011/09/03/rebranded-swansea-city-jackets-sold-by-swindon-town/ - you will see the blame is firmly put on Adidas for this episode, and rightly so.

If Adidas are now getting in a hissy fit for the bad publicity, which incidently was their fault, then I'd rather STFC be supplied by a more professional company.

While you say "only two jackets", what really pisses me off is that no recall has been issued by STFC or Adidas for these jackets. STFC have only publicised their refund and exchanges offer via Twitter, with NO mention on the Official Club Website or notice in the Club Superstore. So how are other fans who brought this product meant to find out of this issue if they don't read my site, the TEF or have Twitter....?

Thats a disgraceful attitude from an STFC fan. Adidas fucked up. We are their customers. If they cant be accountable for their own mistakes then fuck them.
