It's Cheltenham. We usually do.

Can a mod change the thread title to "it's back on", when its officially official.

Looking forward to the explanations which are apparently coming up on ctfc.com and also by @chiefglospolice at http://t.co/uxT8TVu

Give him a break. Got there in the end.

Not exactly an explanation, but this is from the Cheltenham OS...
Quote
Gloucestershire Police had originally withdrawn their support for the game due to the recent civil unrest in Gloucester and other parts of the country. However, a re-assessment of the situation has now resulted in the police being able to provide the required resources for Saturday's match.

The right decision has been made, and what I said wasn't intended as a dig at the police like many on facebook and twitter have... more a "how are you gona explain that one then son?" type of thing!

I wonder if Nick Watkins going on SSN helped sway it? I bet they felt rather sheepish if they saw that.

Ah well - whatever the reason it means that we get another game under our belts before the Oxford match.

fucking hell - this almost pisses me off even more than the original decision.

i'm off down to bournemouth after the game and was going to meet up with a mate to go onto a birthday celebration from there.  when the postponement was announced i called said mate - who is in leatherhead - and said i would now be able to pick him up on route.  i've now had to call hime and tell him i can no longer do this and he'll now have to book a train, no doubt this will cost him extra now.

i wonder if glos police have any idea how far the consequences of this farce run...

That was my main concern to be honest. Gutted I'm not going but will make the use of my recent subscription to the STFC website.

I am working - will have to remember to take either my MP3 player or headphones for the mobile so I can catch the commentary.
