Can't see any harm in giving a few of them trials, as long as they're not interfering in the actual running of the club it looks like a win/win to me.

We shouldn't dismiss such links but I do believe that we need to focus on developing our current youth system.
Also, we can't go into the new season with 3 or 4 players who 'might' be ready for the first team, sort of like Flint, Misun and Pavett were last year.
We need immediate options.

Think I agree with you ISOB....these lads fall out of club systems because they've got it too easy, and although might have a some ability don't have the mental toughness needed to make a decent pro. Swanning about in Spain is hardly likely to help in this department, unless of course they'd done it for themselves. Much better to go down the Austin route of playing some non league football, showing what you can do and get picked up that way. |

If it costs nothing and raises the clubs profile, I can't see a negative. As long as PdC has the veto in who plays and who doesn't, where's the negative? And you never know, we may get lucky with one or two of them. |

That's the thing isn't it? What would the extent of the 'link' be? To my mind it would be just having a look at a few players in trial games. I say again, what fucking harm can it do? |
