I know Di Canio's a Nazi, but what's he got against faces?

"I'm not sure why we lost, it must be the Jews" (or "the Faces" apparently). I can hardly wait

Why should politics have anything to do with it? He's a big name and 99% of you would happily have him as manager.

If he was appointed he'd have my support but I don't want him as manager and not (directly) due to his political stance.

But this is a football club. Politics have nothing to do with it.

But it's hardly a stable appointment, the reason I wouldn't want him as manager. His political stance comes into that as that would be part of the instability. He is consistently controversial and politics would have something to do with it.

Anyway it's not going to happen so don't worry about it.

It's never "just football" though is it? There's countless examples of football being dragged into political and religious business.

Paolo Di Canio would be an exciting appointment and would generate some media, possibly attract some decentish players. We'll also get West Ham fans lingering around the place and might even get a televised game from Sky.

However, is it the right option though!?! I'm dubious.

I also the rumour is rubbish.

I agree that politics shouldn't be brought into football. But that's exactly what Di Canio has done by repeatedly saluting the openly racist fascist Lazio Ultras with a known fascist salute. I don't want to see that associated with our club - not exactly the smartest bit of "Swindon experience" marketing is it?

The thing is Paul, the number of people who wouldn't like Di Canio because of his political persuasions will be far outweighed by the number of people who either haven't got a clue about his fascist background or don't give a shit.
