I see that the FL has sent out the tender document for live games for 3 or 4 years from season 12/13 - they are now offering a Thursday night package of championship games, these will include games moved from midweek and from the weekend. I expect with a new package it will generate more money so there will be a few more teams trying to keep their championship status to keep the money flowing in http://www.football-league.co.uk/staticFiles/95/6c/0,,10794~158869,00.pdf

In the sense of a few more teams throwing more money at staying up maybe

ITV digital used to have thursday night fixtures. Think we had 1 against Reading?
Dont agree with saturday fixtures getting moved to thursdays, plenty of mid week fixtures they can move.

Trouble is Spencer, if they move a mid week to a Thursday - that doesn't leave enough recovery time for the Saturday.

I think the vast majority of clubs would take the money and play twice in 3 days.

0-0 wasn't it. 2001/2002 I think. Barry Knight (remember him) sent off McAreavey and Reeves.

yup, bit of a fiery affair. My first game, not counting the ones I got dragged along to when I was too young to know what the fuck was going on.

Those cheeky UEFA and FIFA sods tried to get their hands on the football crown jewels: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12482371Thankfully the World Cup and Euros stay FTV.
