Timing, technique, poise, panache . . .
Aren't they all 70s aftershaves?

Wasn't even the best goal from yesterday. Van Persie's second was liquid football, a proper team goal. Rooney's was a playstation goal, exactly the sort of shit sky gets excited about because it can be cut into 2 seconds for a Super Sunday ad.

I've seen Crouch do that a couple of times.

alex revell's miss against the gas was hilariously at the other end of the spectrum to goals so far in this thread.

Get a grip....you been playing too many computer games iffy......back to goal a foot of the ground on the volley......not a great lover of Rooney but it will win the goal of the season.....and not just on Sky.

I'm with Leefer. If it hadn't been Rooney the reaction from the media might have been smaller, but then at the same time you lot would probably have given it a lot more credit. Great goal.

Agree that Cox scored atleast one or two better though.

Saw that...never seen a player look so gutted when his own team had scored.

Brilliant technical ability but I still think Rory Fallon and Trevor Sinclair's were far superior.

Sinclair's definitely.

It was more important that it was the winner in a Manchester derby. It was an important goal, but I really don't think it was a "great" goal. This is a personal opinion, but genuinely great goals for me either involve incredible teamwork and movement with a good finish or  Giggs/Baggio/Maradona type dribbles from the halfway line. Carlos Alberto in 1970 was for me the best ever goal, which is why I preferred van Persie's second.

The first Man Utd goal was just as good as Van Persie's for Arsenal.......mind you that Sinclair goal was special.

A bit off topic but I remember one year away at Bradford we scored an unbelievable team goal. I think it was 04/05. Saw it on Youtube a while back but I think it's been taken off.

It's what King referred to as flicky fanny football. Smith was the scorer.
