Anythings better than that late night reception on 5 live....909 and 693...both pants.
After about 11pm, you're better off with static than listening to all the half-wits ringing in and the half-wit presenters who humour them

I had the same problem on MW leefer, got a DAB radio about 3-4 years ago and it's the best money I've ever spent on a car-related thing. Including most of my cars, actually.

I'll second that, I got a Pure highway Xmas before last, mainly because MW reception in Fords is notoriously shit. It does that broadcast to FM thing, so you pick it up on the cars radio. Now I get to listen to Shaun Keaveny on 6 on the way to work, whatevers on 7 on the way home, and can get 5 and 5sportextra when I'm in the car evenings and weekends. Also, stick batteries in it and some headphones, and it works as a pocket radio.

Think it was only £50 or so.

does the fm transmitter bit work well, since most of the items I have which transmit to fm are hit and miss? You can also play ipod through it can you not?

It's pretty good. If you're travelling a long way then every now and again you'll find that there's interference from some local radio stations that broadcasts too close to the empty fm frequency it picked to transmit on when you set it up in your local area. But it's one button to press on the DAB to retune the broadcast, and then one button to press on your car radio to retune the preset to the new frequency.

The only places I've ever lost DAB coverage completely are:

Right in the middle of the Peak District going over Snakes Pass to Manchester
The Scottish Highlands
A couple of bits of the Lake District

Everywhere else, including right down to Land's End, it's been fine.

I've never stuck the Ipod through it, as I've never been arsed to get the cable to fit the line in socket, but I'm told it works fine.

Says a lot when you're looking to Robbie Savage to provide the intellectual ballast for a show
