Beyonce' s set was the most out of place set ever!. .. It was so not right for Glastonbury. Doesn't she have the ability to adapt to her surroundings. Or did all her 'yes team' not have the nerve to tell her she looked rediculous!!

Both U 2 and Coldplay had it spot on.

Alot of things are not right for Glastonbury, thats what makes it different and appealing....i mean you tell me what her right set should have been?

Zane Lowe is a prick. I'm superficial enough to like people just because they like good music, but it's not happening one bit with him. Total cock. Did you see that shit poet girl they had performing for them? She was very average but he went nuts for it, "highlight of my festival", just because it was pretentious wanky hip hop type rhymes about something 'deep'. What a cunt.

That said, when he stood in for Chris Moyles one breakfast, he played some great songs which you'd never normally hear at 8am, and made me very happy.

I don't like Beyonce or pop music, but that was brilliant and exactly what the crowd wanted.

I think the fuss over Rihanna is something to do with this kind of thing:

She's basically making softcore porn with some Barbadian riddims over the top. Beyonce is a much classier lady, albeit of the same vein.

Beyonce got Tricky from massive attack on stage for one of her songs, but it was all a bit weird:

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xjk3jv_tricky-with-beyonce-baby-boy-glastonbury-2011-full_music

"Apparently he was asked to guest as a well known local Bristolian hip hop / trip hop legend which played to his ego (at least that was how it was allegedly sold to him) - he was asked / prepped to perform a massive attack medley with Beyonce but instead they just kept playing Baby Boy while he stood waiting for his cue - which never came. After 30 seconds of dancing like a spare part he got the hint and was pulled off stage."

And it was all a bit of revenge for this:

Laverne was clearly taking the piss and had a bit of fun by throwing it onto to Zane Lowe knowing full well he went to see the band his listeners had chosen the set for. What's he supposed to do, agreed and say Beyonce was brilliant and lender herself to the long standing tradition of glitz and glammer at Glastonbury?

Lauren laverne was going on about how great pop music and glastonbury is, asked for zane lowes opinion. he just laughed and said he went to see QOTSA
He's managed to actually go up in my opinion, fair play.

What I don't understand is why people are so furious with him to the point of calling for him to be sacked.

He dismissed one artist's acclaimed performance in favour of another less generally popular one's, and for this musical snobbery he should lose his job. Smacks of hypocrisy a little no?

Really enjoyed my first Glastonbury! Wish I'd have been before now and that it was on next year so I can go again

Been reading a lot of people on various sites saying such and such were shite but I can honestly say there wasn't anyone I watched that I thought was complete shit. I am no U2 fan but enjoyed watching them live even in the pouring rain.

I suppose this is the difference between being there and being a part of it after a few(!) drinks and sitting at home on the sofa watching it on tv. Some of the BBC coverage make acts look crapper than they were aswell as it doesn't really capture the energy/atmosphere at the time. E.g I watched The Streets instead of Beyonce and it went a bit mental at times, someone set off a flare inside the tent/birds getting their tits out on the big screen/general carnage/etc but watching it on the BBC site it looks pretty poo and virtually none of the best bits are shown.

Watched far too many acts to remember/mention but some of my favs were: Biffy Clyro, Plan B, The Streets, Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip. Also stumbled across SL2 playing old skool hardcore anthems at about 3-4am one night which was epic
