I won't believe it until it's in the Adver or on the Sky Sports website.

Reid at Newport is supposed to be someone we have been watching.

Craig Reid has matured into a half decent striker with a great finish on him, I saw him play twice and a mate of mine who plays for Forest Green and used to play for Swindon says he would do really well for us and looks the real deal.

Didn't do too well early in his career at Coventry and Cheltenham but has blossomed into a good goal getter, in his mid 20's.

4 of his goals have come from penalties out of 16 goals so far this season.

Hes not very big but fairly strong and similar build to JPM just a little taller at about 5' 10"

Would be worth a gamble if he is cheap enough, not a target man though which seems to be what the TEF think Danny is after and playing at a lower level than Benyon who is a similar build to him but has scored a few less but at a higher level than Reid.

Both Reid or Benyon would be wortht he risk if the price is right....come on down!

Sounds like he'd compliment Austin quite well. Austin's all round game is son strong but he needs someone running off him and playing on the shoulder.

But all the official stuff coming out of the club suggest we want experience at this level, so not sure Reid fits. Personally I want Benyon.

Ok the Dean Ashton one: if there was any truth in that whatsoever, it would be a great signing. Even if he could only play 50% of remaining games, he would rinse this league with one leg (good). His experience would be invaluable to the younger players, including Charlie, plus he one of the few over the last few years who played in the lower leagues for a few years and went on to the England squad.
As for Reid and Benson, they do sound like very similar players. I'm sure they have very different attributes, but having seen neither play i can't really comment. When Danny stated experienced, i think these two would be in that category, although i don't know too much about Reid's history, they've both played consistent first team football and scored goals. Happy to give either a chance really, as long as it's a relatively cheap deal.

Heard from a club source (Sheena Easton) that there is some truth in the Ashton rumour...

Yep. Ashton has been spotted driving away from the CG in a DeLorean. It looks like it's gonna happen. Fingers crossed.

Not on a pay as you play deal. The insurance is to cover the contract costs.

EDIT: Word is this will be sorted by tomorrow. Ashton will be at the game today.
