Gary Johnson has left Posh by mutual consent apparently.
Probably because the chairman has run out of money and Johnson has been told to sell another player, when Johnson was expecting money to spend from the sale of McLean.

Johnson isn't any better than Wilson IMO. The only difference is he's got a promotion at this level.

Johnson has a better history than wilson. Took Yeovil from the conference to league one, did what wilson couldn't do and got City promoted. Also has International experience. You can argue that it's gone stale for him in recent seasons, but it had too for wilson before we got him
If, and it's a big If, we do sack wilson I would want Johnson here. West country again for him, would assume he'd be fairly happy to move back to the area.
Will be interesting to see how this news makes Fitton and co act, and whether they'll act differently. My instinct would say no, they seem like far too decent people to sling Wilson out on his ear just because Johnsons available. Have to wait and see I guess

Lets not forget everything he did for Yeovil. Its still Wilson in for me, but if Johnson is unemployed and we were looking for a new manager I'd be happy with Gary Johnson no doubt about it.

there was no difference between the 2 sides [Oldham away] apart from the 2 goals well those sort of differences matter, don't they?

Hasn't been seeing eye to eye with the chairman all season apparently

Johnson was promised a transfer budget which never materialised.

Well he should have been used to that, must have been galling for him doing all that work at City, then Coppel strolling in buying England Keepers on megabucks. Maynard was a great signing for him and his injury was a big blow........maybe will see him at Rovers

Barry Fry was on 5 Live on Friday saying that Peterborough were looking to spend £0.5M to £1.0M of the McLean money on a new striker but maybe that has not materialised or been pulled from under Johnson
