I suppose only something of interest to us older TEFers, but one of the great characters.

Had Don Rogers at Palace for a while and tried to turn him into a midfield playmaker. He figured, as he got a bit older and slower, he could use his passing skills, to extend his career.  Sadly we never got to find out, due to injury.

A character, certainly, but one of those (of whom there are quite a lot) who seemed to move around avery season, gain a reputation, but actually achieved very little in terms of success.  Sounds as though his latter years were pretty awful for him - very sad.  RIP

The archetypal 'flash 70's football manager' but a hell of a character to boot. He did pretty well for over 50 years on just one lung, I never knew that before Huh?
