The club deserves a bit of slack at this moment in time because of our inconsistencies on the pitch. It's frustrating not knowing "which Town will turn up" and we all know that.

I would say that we don't know the full facts... For all we know, a player could have been en route to the CG before the plug was pulled.

Also, I still think it's good that DW won't bring in any Tom, Dick or Harry... Without doubt we need bodies but we shouldn't just be bringing any old 18 year old rookie from a team Spurs for the sake of it.

TEF is 24/7 and yet some people only feel the need to contribute when the going is not-so-good or to throw a bit of pessimism our way if the going is good! That irks me a bit but these folk probably go week in/week out so that's their right I suppose... Still tedious though Smiley

Old Bart's form from a couple of years ago earned him a repuation on here so even when he makes a valid point now it's rubbished as typical Bart doom and gloom.

Fair enough Rich but the club has known before the play off final that Paynter was going...leaving just Austin as a proven striker.....agree that bringing any old person in wont help but the money from Cox and Greer we got....well maybe a fraction of it could have bought us a proven striker...we really do need one to help out..........its not easy i know but the board need to gamble a little with hard cash i feel.
Pericard is starting to shine but he alone wont be enough even when Austin returns.

The problem is the board can't gamble with hard cash as the deadline has gone and you can't sign permanent signings until January again.  We are trying to secure a proven loan striker so it makes it all the harder.  I am happy that Danny isn't settling for a Hutchinson or Revell and is instead holding out for players of the quality of Haynes and Healy who would both be excellent additions to the team.

Fair play. My bad. Both would be ideal, yes best to hold out for players like that.
