decent player, and a welcome addtion, but not as great as some seem to think he is.likewise, prutton aint as bad as some make out either.

I agree with you there has been alot of exaggeration about both players but think thats what football fans do

Danny isn't one for sticking with what he sees as a weak team though is he?

No he isn't....Mark Marshall came in for Soton away last season did OK and was dropped for Frank Nouble the next game.

I suppose a lot will depend on how fit Sheehan is....if he's fit I think he'll start.

Danny Ward had quiet ineffective games for us also. But other players could step up when he wasn't firing on all cylinders.

That's football though, even the best players in the world have quiet games sometimes.

I'd keep it the same, but with Prutton in for Timlin with Kennedy / Sheehan and Evans / Douglas dependent on fitness and whether Wilson thinks the youngsters are up for it.

We need to give it a proper run with Douglas, Ferry, McGovern and Prutton as the midfield whether it is a flat or diamond formation. Don't see any need for a leftie on the left, only thing is I wouldn't play Douglas and Prutton in the middle together under any circumstances.

So, not the same then ?

Yes, all what 2 or 3 of them.

I suppose, most people just choose to remember the other 40 odd where he was pretty damn good.

Torres had an 'ineffective' world cup, still a class player

I think it's a bit like Sheehan, you don't appreciate things until they are missed.

Make no mistake, Ferry isn't the finished article and has a few shortcomings. One of the things I noticed at the back end of last season is his willingness to drive forward and take a few more shots, something which he does need to do more of. It sounded like he was doing the same last night, though I'm relying on Shaun's commentary in my assumption.

The encouraging thing is he isn't stagnating or going backwards here, he's obviously been told to do certain things and is learning. Personally I think that's why he is class.

40 is an exaggeration for sure.he went missing or struggled badly in quite a few matches.
now i'm not knocking the lad,far from it.he is young and has plenty of potential to improve further.but people seeing him as the answer, and prutton as the problem are wrong imo.

And in my opinion, due mostly to the fact that we have only won one game this year, it's you that's wrong. Having Prutton in at the expense of Ferry is our main problem.

That's not a dig at Prutton either, I just think we have to have Ferry in the team.

we've clearly missed Ferry this season and Pruttons been wank.

There is nothing more to it.

Anyone know any decent (not flood damaged) pubs between the station and the ground?
