Very sad news...but not sure I agree with that. Across the 92 clubs, there are probably something like 3,000 registered players. Sadly, one or two of those players are going to die every year or so. Law of averages. If Adam Stansfield had played for England, then certainly a minute's silence at Wembley would be appropriate. But he didn't. He played for Exeter, and they will almost certainly honour him there. Unless we want to turn every international game into a memorial service for whoever involved in football passed away most recently, it's not really appropriate I don't think.
Maybe not a minutes silence then but surely black armbands would have been to much work for the poor sods! A little respect please!
Though I seem to remember a game for a premier league team a few years back where they had a minutes silence because the managers dad had died ........ bizarre!
