That's a strange one.  Maybe James was worried he wouldn't get 1st team football at Celtic.  On another note how can City afford James Wages?  Huh?

The phrase, 'Mind your P's & Q's', originates from pubs. P's & Q's stand for pints and quarts and the whole phrase was used as a warning to customers whose slates were getting too high.

The term "Slush fund" originated from the Navy.

In the days of wooden sailing ships when nutrition on board was poor, the chef used to pour the floating fat (Slush) from the pot onto the sailor's meal. He received a fee for this from the sailor, of course, and the sailor received some much needed nutrition in return.

Cold enough to freeze the balls off of a brass monkey has got nothing to do with Chimps and Gonads! A Brass Monkey was a device for holding Cannon Balls on ships, when the temperature dropped the brass contracted and the balls rolled off.

Bite the bullet...Comes from the English civil war when musket lead shotte was cast in moulds, sometimes imperfections made it difficult for the musketeer to load the ball so he had to bite or chew bits off so it fitted down the barrel.
