I think we all know ward will be gone.I think we will get either Darby or Caddis on loan next season.

The good thing about these loan players we have had this season is that clubs will trust us to develope these youngsters and give them games.

We have struggled in the past getting loan players as people have been competing for them but now they will see we could be at the top challenging and be happier to send us these players. Also when it comes to signing these players.Theo Robinson joined Hudds instead because he thought like most that they would be challenging and we would be mid table.Given the choice again i bet he would think over both offers more seriously.

I just get this feeling that maybe getting so close will see fitton and co really go for it.

Yeah, you could be right there DRS, I certainly hope so. Let's take the bull by the horns and go for it!

Agreed again. It's going to be a lot easier for DW to attract players to the club this summer. Not that he did a bad job last year of course but it did seem to be a bit of a struggle at times.

No one had really heard of Cuthbert, Ferry, Ward et al this time
last year.

Why couldn't the journalist at least acknowledge that Wilson could do the same this summer?

I wanna see us go into the summer with a little bit of intent. It was a bit of a slow slummer last year.Hindsight will say at the time that we got some good players last summer but it didn't feel like that at the time.

I just get this feeling that maybe getting so close will see fitton and co really go for it.

Agree with all that. We got further than any of us expected this season. It's been great but now it's time to really take the bull by the horns and build a team seriously capable of promotion. Just thinking back to Fitton and Co's 5 year plan we are now 3 years into it. They'll want to seriously challenge next season IMO.

'Wilson to be sacked after disappointing season of over-achievement for Town'

I wouldn't put it past the Adver, although this clearly wouldn't be the headline as it contains no dodgy puns.

Another particularly poor piece of journalism from the 'underachieving' Swindon Advertiser.

Whoops! I missed out Simon Ferry - I'm sure we'll sign him Hmmm

For what its worth this quote from Ferry that appeared in the Scottish press last week would suggest he is pretty keen to stay at Swindon;

"It doesn't really make a difference if that's in the Championship or still in League One. To be honest, if Swindon want to keep me then I'd be more than happy to stay, especially if the new Celtic manager comes in and tells me I just have to fight for the chance to get a game. If a manager like Danny Wilson wants to buy me then I would rather come back to Swindon and play for him and play somewhere I'm wanted."

The standard from the adver has gone downhill rapidly since it has been printed down the A420

The Adver is a very poor read these days, in fact I can hardly see it being printed six days a week for much longer.  It used to come out in the evenings with several different editions, now it's like a newsletter that comes out in the morning.

They don't employ seasoned hacks, just cub reporters trying to cut their teeth.
