Nice one Wiggy.

Here is a ponderer. I too am trying to lose weight, but I stagnated for a month after losing 2 1/2 stone. I think its on the down again now, but why did it stop for a month. The only thing that changed was I started to exercise a lot more, consequently I did up my calorie intake, but far less than I was burning through exercise.

Odd.

It takes a while for your metabolism to adjust. Although you upped your exercise, all calories get immediately stored as fat so the extra intake would see your weight plateau until your metabolism catches up with the extra exercise and you start to burn that extra fat.

Plus, if you've lost two and a half stone, your body actually requires even less calories to function, therefore your increased calorie intake has a bigger effect!

Thanks Sam.

I've adjust my calories from 1550 to 1450, or rather myfitnesspal did. Its not so bad once you get used to it, plus the extra exercise helps. Today I did hill reps for the first time. So I had a doughnut that some birthday cow orker provided.

This fact makes me happy: I can now 'run' 6.5 miles. Well sort of, 8 min 50s mile average. But given last time I exercised regularly at my heavier weight I struggled 3.2 miles in 28  mins I'm happy.

Make sure you're getting enough calories. Work out your BMR and then you can set a daily goal. You need a deficit of 3500 calories per week to lose 1lb.

At 1500 calories a day you should be losing 2lb per week WITHOUT exercise. Sounds like your metabolism might need a kick-start, in which case upping your calories by 200 to 300 per day for 3 or 4 days should do the trick.

Yes, the app was warning about under calorie causing the body to go into "survival mode" hence less weight loss. I've upped my calories to compensate exercise, so we'll see..

Since November I've lost 2 stone. Maintaining it well, all about portion size and healthy eating and maintaining it. My metabolism is working well, and don't seem to put weight on. Occasionally I slip...

It's a shame he's coming back to Earth, I'm going to miss his pictures and videos.

Me too, one of the best twitter follows ever. Landed safely this morning.

Thanks for the heads up Flashheart.
