Why do companies still produce tinned goods without ring pulls? You’ve got to dig out that rusty old can opener that only opens 2/3rds of the can top so you then have to get a spoon and try to break the bit that’s still attached to the can. Then the spoon flicks up covering you in whatever was in the can.

Do you mean the demotion? Technically it wasn't the Premier league then which I guess is why they refer to it that way.

Butyric Acid, hence the vomit taste.  It's mostly Hershey's, but think it's in other home grown chocolate as well.  Added to prevent the sugar from cystalising and creating that white sheen chocolate can get - it's due to the scale of the Country and the time it takes to get things delivered and sat on shelves.  The idea was that people think the white look on chocolate means it is bad, so would stop buying it.  As they grow up eating it, they don't notice it.

I buy British Heinz Baked Beans (our local supermarket has a British section!).   It's always amazed me they are an American company but I have to buy shipped in beans.

California seems to be trying to drag the food standards with them, much to the chagrin of others.  They are bringing in lots of new standards, which means producers have to decide to either make two versions, not supply to California or go for the simplest option of changing the recipe for the entire USA.  Given California is something like the 7th biggest economy of the world, when treated as a Country, they have little choice really.

You can find really good food here, it's just not going to be in the main aisle at Walmart.
