I think we have a loyal home fan base who have been served up tripe for most of the last 10 years and have now had a belly full.

I think possession based football kills any kind of atmosphere tbh. Even if the team is winning, it’s still boring to watch 90% of the time.

Man City at home was the exception! It's also very hard to create a decent atmosphere without proper derby matches or a large away following.

The Di Canio era and the Wellens promotion year stand out as years where it was good but much past that I'm struggling.

Beating Bristol City in 2014 the place was rocking. As much as we dislike our neighbours East & West of us we need them for atmospheric match days

Even then i think our judgements get cloded. Numerous times wellens came out moaning about our poor home support

Absolute tinderbox when Wade Elliott got sent off! Yes, another result of our decline is that we largely have a fixture list without any meaning for our fans, and the teams that we play hardly bring any of their own. Would be interesting to see if this year is our lowest average away fan turnout at the CG...? Tell someone 10 years ago that Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham, FGR and Plymouth would all be above us... Thank God for Yeovil and Torquay or we'd be the 'Worst in the West'!

You could be right about the lowest away fan turnout if not all time then certainly recent years. If we had been in league one this season even teams geographically far away like Bolton, Derby, Ipswic & Sheffield Wednesday would have brought large numbers on top of the local sides and Charlton, Exeter & Plymouth

I didn’t want to get promoted for the good of STFC. I wanted to get promoted to avoid the absolute circus that will be Wrexham in L2 next year. It is going to be EXHAUSTING.

Hopefully fun if they get stiffed every week.

Crowds of 3 to 5k back in the 90s, now they're like a lower league Liverpool in the eyes of some. I would absolutely love it if they went straight back down.
