A pity that Peter Cook & Dudley Moore in their Derek & Clive personas never got to host the Oscars.
Cook and Moore hosting an award ceremony in character as Derek and Clive is possibly the best thing that’ll never happen. ‘Some cunt came up to me at the Oscars…’

Sliced bread. For those old enough to remember when thin, medium and thick sliced bread was available it annoys me that decades on the two available thicknesses can be so inconsistent in the same loaf. I’m using a ‘medium’ sliced Kingsmill wholemeal loaf. The difference in the thickness of the sixes is definitely not uniform. Some remind me of the old thin sliced bread.

When I try slicing bread I get thick, medium and thin slices (and wedge shaped) all in the same loaf !.

Try M&S medium or thick sliced wholemeal bread as all slices are uniformed and a bargain at .65p per 800g loaf.

Swindonmaniac obviously. With my previous career in butchery and an array of knives to make Paul Hogan think twice, not me. However, sometimes having the ability to pull a couple ‘uniformed’ slices out of a plastic bag in the early morning and throw them into a toaster is the way to go. Getting an artisan loaf from a supermarket is a big ask being that there in house bakeries just finish off prebaked bread to pass off as home baked you could argue who needs a supermarket bakery.

I’m sorry but what has S&M got to do with buying an M&S loaf of bread whilst on the premises to buy some pants? You filthy minded pervert.

Supermarket in-house bakeries get frozen, unbaked bread which they then bake on the premises.

Which is what I said. Most of us don’t live within walking distance of a French or indeed atypical European bakery to get such a thing as a genuine home baked loaf to slice or slice ourselves no matter how shit one maybe a slicing it. My original comment is how uneven a sliced loaf is. When considering the technology available and the effort that goes into the food Industry on all levels you’d think a equal thickness of each slice would be a piece of piss, though apparently not.

Jesus Christ do you live in a mansion, ours combined is 'only' going up £70 a month, and that is with both of us working from home and a 9 year old who constantly leaves every light on in the house. Just went online to submit meter readings, strangely their system has collapsed.
