My sisters birthday is Christmas Eve, I've given her a birthday card with Merry Christmas written in it on at least one occasion.

Jesus Wept. And we have no cause to feel superior. I'd guess a similar poll conducted here wouldn't cover the UK general public in glory either

The Genie was a tad powerful though, so bombing the place might be a recommended strategy if going for a pre-emptive strike.

I'm going to a wedding tomorrow that will be my fourth in three weeks. Now, Cambodian weddings are much more bearable than English ones, but I've still had enough.

The one plus point is they'll all have to come to my wedding, and give me more money than I've given them. Strange custom.

Weddings around Christmas time are becoming more and more popular. I assume the prices for venue etc are cheaper, but it's an extra expense at the wrong time of year for those invited especially when it might involve an overnight stay.

Cambodia is a largely Buddhist country, so I don't suppose it makes a difference.

I now have a mental image of the Dalai Lama comparing hotels on tripadvisor

Pubs at this time of year annoy me. I've finished work late, the vic is open 'till 2. Sorted. But it's full of twats.

The other night I watched a man order drinks one at a time (vodka and lemonade, when it's done, "Oh can I have a JD and coke", "Errrr, um.. pint of cider", "Pint of fosters, etc.) and then finished with a pint of Guinness. And then paid by card. the cunt.

I saw reg the other night though. So that was cool. Oh and tails a few night before that. You lot can't stay away.

Swindon is the only place in the world where I've ordered a Guiness and it's basically been poured like a lager, straight into the glass, no leaving it for 2 minutes or whatever. Woeful.

So Swindon's the only place you've been that doesn't fall for wanky marketing gimmicks? Good.

It is annoying, but I look at the positive, the money will help pubs to stay open, which has to be a good thing, and it will be back to normal soon..

I tried to convince fB to do a turn on the karaoke....I reckon a bit of work and he'd do all right as a Kurt Cobain tribute act.

Fucking this. If you ever say the words 'and a Guinness' you don't deserve to go to pubs. If it's because you're ordering a round and someone's turned up, well they don't fucking deserve their drink because they are late to the round.

Also, if you aren't a regular at the place and don't know anyone who is, don't loiter at the bar and take up space. Go stand elsewhere. Barmen don't appreciate having to shout over the top of other people. This isn't christmas for pub staff. It's hell.

Too many locals who think they own pubs just because they can't stay out of them longer than a day.
