But it's not Christmas and we're not American. I agree with BO and Ells. (Don't ever stop posting Ells!)

They don't do Halloween out here. They do tend to believe in ghosts though, which can be hilarious and/or extremely irritating.

They (America) didn't even do Halloween until the Jocks and the Paddys settled there. OK they did eventually take it to another level...

Halloween - little kids in costumes doing "trick or treat" = good
Halloween - teenagers knocking the door = shit

It's the septics that have made it shit and possibly what Ells is alluding to. It used to be a bit of lighthearted fun, they've made it a fucking "season" in the states and that's kind of infected it over here a bit I think.

It has been Americanised to the point where it's suddenly a big thing in the calendar, not just one day. If it was just an excuse for kids to have a themed tea party and eat sweets then fair enough, but now even my sodding doctor's surgery has to have plastic bats and fake cobwebs in the window and act like its a big deal. Not to mention the fact I live near a pub, which means every year I'm subjected to people - half dressed up and half undressed - vomiting in my garden and hitting each other just because "it's Halloween!". And I'm usually in favour of flimsy excuses to get pissed, believe me.

Mind you, I absolutely loathe fancy dress, so maybe I am just a miserable bitch.

I dare any budding DMR to visit Maimi's South Beach at this time of year, or a Dolphins game, and not enjoy it.

I lost interest when Stirling Moss failed to win the Championship in his Vanwall

I give you the best Formula One (and Indy 500) driver in the world ever.

And an awesome follow up:

Both Lotii. Of course.

Agree. Nice pics of two greats.

Don't forget Graham. F1, Indy and Le Mans champion. Only driver to do all three?
