the fucking morons in the garage at work. They're there to keep our vans and lorries on the road. Until recently they were run as part of the business, something needed doing they'd do it. Now they're their own seperate business and everything is only done if it's desperate, i.e something has to fall off or break before they'll replace it. The vans are now utter, utter shit because of this.

Point in case, the van I got given today has been signed off for repair by 4 drivers, including myself, in the last month with a really heavy knock coming from the front end. I've explained fully on the repair sheet that it happens when steering quickly, or near full lock. reverbertates through the steering and the pedals. 3 other drivers have said exactly the same thing. Garage haven't found a problem each time, this last one came with a brilliant note - "the banging is caused by the straps in the load area of the van, hitting the side of the van. Tighten the straps and the banging will stop."

HOLY FUCK, FOUR DRIVERS HAVE REPORTED THE SAME PROBLEM, AND ALL FOUR OF US ARE APPARENTLY STUPID ENOUGH TO MISTAKE A DULL THUD FROM BEHIND US FOR A BIG THICK HEAVY KNOCK COMING THROUGH THE VANS' CONTROLS? Is it fuck. Took the van out and low and behold, the knocking continued, 4 times in the first hour. Absolutely fuck all to do with the straps, which were tightly fastened by the previous driver. Told my boss (who has witnessed the knocking himself) and he started ranting about the garage. Dickheads.

In better news, Walkers Sensations Mexican Fiery Sweet Chipotle crisps are bloody delicious.

Longstanding TEF members may remember my firstborn's arrival (I mean on here, not in real life, that would be odd).

He's leaving primary school today.

I hope that makes you all feel as old as I do.

I dont think I as on then, but my eldest left primary school last Friday.  So I feel your pain and decrepitude.  I am just taking her to her secondary, Hardenhuish in 'nam, for a uniform fitting.

It's weird.  I could have sworn I was 25.

I've just had the annual British Gas boiler service as part of the insurance policy. The engineer a taciturn man, departed with the words "usual story....old, inefficient, can't get the parts "  I quipped,  "that sounds like me, what about the boiler? "

People, particularly men, who feel the need to wear a pair of running trainers with their suit for the walk to and from the station on their commute.

To be fair it depends how far they are walking, I used to have to walk c.3 miles to and from stations and it wrecks shoes.

My mrs drinking from multiple cups through out the day, so when it comes to washing up its as if she's had a party. Why can't she drink from the same cup and just rinse it?

Perhaps she is having a party during the day?

Not having that at all. It's weird. If you can't walk a couple of miles over the course of a day in your shoes, get some better ones.

I don't see anything intrinsically wrong with having different footwear for different circumstances.  Feet, to a pedestrian are important, it's amazingly easy to get blisters, ask Mighty Michael Smith. I've known rapid blistering solely ( for you Nev) from wearing the wrong socks. Now that is annoying.
