The fridge has decided to stop working.

This means that my beer is not cold enough. One is not amused.

My mobile (Sony Experia) totally wiped my sim card out, then showed that the time and date was 10.16 on January 3rd and my calendar had defaulted back to 1980!

Took it in to the EE (Orange) shop and was told that it was probably due to a glitch in the software. Re-did the dates/time easily enough but been spending ages trying to get all my contacts back. It is a real pain as it will not read all of them I have on another sim.

For future reference set up a GMail account and back them up to that

It's been blocked by my mobile provider.  Admittedly I just need to remove the adult content filter, but I can't be arsed.  It never used to be blocked though!

I have the same with Vodafone on 3G my company won't unblock the filter if VF deem TEF as unsuitable. WIFI no problem though.

Because the TEF is judged to be adult content? First I've heard.

Apparently so, but only recently.  Whilst it's probably easy to remove the filter, I have a suspicion they will ask me for a password of some sort and, if they do, I don't remember what it is.  Fortunately I am one of the chosen few at work with internet privileges.

Voda blocked the TEF a few weeks ago. Think it must autodetect the word cunt.

In any case it was easy to unblock via "my vodaphone", log in, enter my driving license number et voilą (presumably they just check the format is right, since I doubt they have DVLA database access).

Terms and conditions

The first time you remove content control, you will need a credit card to prove your age

We need to charge £1 to your credit card, to prove that it's valid. This charge will show on your statement as 'Vodafone C.Control'

We can't refund this charge - but we will add £2.50 to your Vodafone account to say 'thank you'

If you give your phone to anyone under 18, you must reactivate adult content control

Given that you have to be over 18 to sign a phone contract it's rather odd they then ban "adult" content.

You need to be over 18 to be in charge of the contract, not the mobile phone...parents do it for their kids etc...

Aye...which should mean it's parents responsibility to request safeguards on, rather than blanket ban for the rest of us.
