Note to self: It is not mandatory to drink ALL the beer. It's perfectly fine to leave some for another day.

Thai beer decent?

Any other Thai alcoholic beverages you would/wouldn't recommend?

I'm rather partial to Singha beer. It's an acquired taste for some though. If you come across it while you are here get some Beer Lao in, it's lovely.

Some people like Chang but I can't stand it. It's just too strong and full of crap making for some mean hangovers (known in these parts as changovers)

Lao Kao (rice whiskey) is rank but very effective. Yaa Dong is a Thai whiskey mixed with herbs, more palatable and it does the job.

Oh....

When on the beach you should find hawkers selling fresh coconut, they chop the top off so you can drink the coconut milk inside. Buy some Samsong, which is a Thai rum, and pour some into the coconut milk. It's delicious.

Sounds good Flash!

I just read about Chang. In Thailand its 6.4% but when exported its only 5%.

Went to Lacock Abbey yesterday. It was heaving because the local school had a scarecrow trail on. The last space in the car park was taken up by an elderly couple having a picnic next to their car. They really didn't want to move a few feet to behind their car. "We go to a National Trust property every week and always picnic like this" was their justification.
