Put in a claim at the end of the tax year for mileage, then you'll get a rebate.

Is it a lease car? A lot of councils pay a lower rate to staff with lease cars. The 40/45 pence per mile rate is normally for staff using their own cars.

No my own.

I'll just use the 16 seater minibus for myself from now on.

Alternatively, you could raise the point with your employer.

Or, do a claim with HMRC and get a nice rebate. Not only are you owed the tax on the mileage they've given you, but you're entitled to 45p mile tax relief. Phone HMRC and tell them you want to claim for employment expenses, they'll tell you to send them a form P87 to them.

To do that do I need to keep track on the miles? I rarely go elsewhere but this month I've done quite a bit. Is there any official stuff on mileage anywhere?

When you claim mileage from work you should be keeping a log of where you went on what days. At least I hope your employer asks for them.

But total mileage will be ok, HMRC doesn't need to see the log:

Of course, your supplier could take you for a nice business lunch which also happened to involve 11 bottles of wine.

The idiot next door complaining because I'm sneezing too loudly.

What --- the actual fuck --- am I expected to do? Twat! If anything she's just encouraged me to sneeze more, might sniff some pepper later if needed.

You mean she actually came and knocked at your door to complain about you sneezing?  And I thought my next door neighbour had complained about some trivial things.
