Starts out reasonably enough, good point about the boundary reforms = rotten boroughs then just turns into the usual Daily Mail "bash the BBC, liberal left wing elites ruining our great nation" bullshit. Sure they just get a chimp in the office to churn this stuff out.

Is Littlejohn still there then?....

It was always going to have a so-called right wing element to it (a political fallacy in my view) but reading past that doesn't negate the wider points he made. It does ignore though I would agree that the Tories' intentions are not entirely honest either; by reducing the number of MPs increases the balance of power within Parliament towards the executive i.e Mr Cameron.

As for BBC-bashing, they're part of the establishment as well - 'them'. I think in the last couple of weeks as Swindon fans we're fully aware of their failings.

This is not far wrong either

I think in the past couple of weeks we've seen plenty of Swindon fans vent at the Beeb in a manner even the Mail would be ashamed of, for a report that turned out to be pretty much accurate. I do agree with your general point though about the political class betraying democracy but it's something of a general truism isn't it? Pretty much up there with rain being wet and snow being cold?

"Hope I'm wrong"
"Hope to be proved wrong"

The above statement and their ilk.

Those words have always got on my tits, only more so now as it's being said quite a lot. NO ONE wants to be wrong, so please don't pretend you'd like to be, or hope to be. Smiley

Sometimes you do want to be wrong, if what you believe is of no benefit to you whatsoever.

But if you think something is shit, but you hope it isn't, then hope you are wrong.

Hope I'm right.

But that makes no sense.  'Think it's going to rain tomorrow, but would like to be wrong' is perfectly reasonable, isn't it?

Yes. Smiley

I should have clarified further, I meant it in the context of dramatic posts to do with the club.

"The club's about to implode, we're going down and Paolo will leave, hope I'm wrong."

They could just say, "hope everything's alright," and forget all the drama.

But it's all about the drama, didn't you know?
