I thought France's response was spot on. And hardly up there with this reaction from Ireland a while back (1989).
The haka is now not so much a cultural symbol as a piece of theatre and, as such, people are starting to question whether it should even be allowed. I hope it does continue because it's colourful and makes things more interesting. But expecting other sides to sit around passively while the All Blacks get pumped up before a game is completely unrealistic. |
