Notting Hill Carnival - gangs of youths running around with machetes, 8 confirmed stabbings surely this event is becoming too dangerous to hold each year.

Get that ULEZ binned whilst they’re at it. Fucking money grabbing tossers.
How can they bang on about air pollution affecting health then say it’s OK to carry on polluting as long as you pay £12.50.
Coming to a town near you soon.

Bristol to Tenerife leg of the journey rescheduled for today 15:20 to arrive in Tenerife at 19:19 and the return leg is set to leave Tenerife at 20:15 and get back to Bristol at 00:16.
All on the app - although Rep has said he’s heard nothing and can’t confirm the app is accurate
Fingers crossed….as long as it leaves Bristol on time we should be good

Good luck bud. I had something similar, although nowhere near as bad, last year travelling to Nashville via New York. Could have happily dealt with it by myself but had kids in tow as well, that was what made it hard, so feel your struggle. Hopefully things will start looking up.

Bloody hell Twitter is bad enough on this this morning, albeit at the last check despite what many like to say London has not collapsed socially and economically this morning? The ULEZ is a deterrent, little different to when a charge came in for carrier bags. It will stop some/a lot of people using cars thus reducing pollution which is killing people, seems a lot of those most angry about it on SM will not be affected with it which is odd?

It’s not killing people. There is 1 case where air pollution is down as the cause of death - fucking 1.
800,000 people have no option, they can’t ditch their car and they can’t afford £12.50 per day - almost all the poorest.
Then there’s the so called science behind it - all bought and paid for by TFL.

So 1 person has died from air pollution in London in recent times.... People do have an option, in fact they have several, use public transport that the rest of us can only dream about, use the scrappage scheme which exists to help, actually fucking check whether their car is affected, a recurring theme of the right wing scare stories about this is that time and time again if one looks into the tale they are weaving the vehicle is actually outside the scope of the ULEZ. Much as with climate change denial (there is quite the venn diagram emerging), fuck me, what if we are wrong and pumping loads of shite into the air for our kids to breathe isn't killing loads of people....

And, really, why shouldn’t people who are not affected be angry about the effect it has on those who are affected? Seems the right thing to me.
Why not just ban the polluting cars if they are so deadly. Oh no, let’s just tax people so they can carry on polluting.

As long as Khan has his chauffer driven Range Rover, engine running, waiting for him outside every meeting he can do one.

Boys been fine. Didn’t want to get out of bed so slept 4am till 11am. He’s the only one of us whose hand a proper night sleep. Might mess with his sleep pattern a bit but he’s genuinely been ok. Once we are on the coach he kept asking why we weren’t moving and we kept saying not everyone was on the coach and he kept saying he couldn’t see anymore peoples. I keep saying - it’s not Jet2s fault but the speed at which they got us out and the communication leaves a lot to be desired. They’ve still told us nothing and all the information about the flights I’ve found myself online…

I'd sell my car the moment I stepped foot in London to live, as my brother did when he moved to Peckham. Public transport is excellent and driving is horrific.

Can't really comment on that what with not following him to every meeting, would be no different to 3.15pm outside pretty much every primary school in the country, which I always think rather makes a mockery of the petrol is too expensive/fuel duty is too high/war on motorist shtick many like to spin. FWIW its worth noting that all the fuss today seems to be being driven by the government and their propagandists in certain media outlets rather ignoring that the policy was introduced by a Tory Mayor, and expanded at the request of a Tory Transport Secretary.... But hey ho, perhaps Orwell was right all along I'd sell my car the moment I stepped foot in London to live, as my brother did when he moved to Peckham. Public transport is excellent and driving is horrific.
Pretty much this, don't think OTTOMH any of my friends in London have cars any more, if nothing else for the rare occasions they may need them its a heck of a lot cheaper to hire/car pool v. the money tied up in a car + VED and insurance each year.

I don’t care about the politics behind it, ULEZ is just wrong.
Remember 15 years ago when diesel was promoted as being greener than petrol and using wood pellets for heating was sustainable.
Fucking scientists!
