You seem to get enraged by BBC articles a lot, can I suggest you stop reading the news?
With the memorial story, I echo his question.

I believe that Matt Baker scratched his arse this afternoon.
Don't worry if you missed this. There will be a C4 documentary about it before the month's out.
(By the way, I support the protests against Dorries wanting to sell it.)

Article Authors - By BambooWhen they put the brief "about the author" bit at the end. Not so much things like 'Sara has been writing for 20yrs and has achieved the "No Frills" Award for absolutely nothing.' but...it's more that almost every single time, they have to state what University they went to, what they studied and where! Often the degree doesn't match the article discussed. Is it to add some kind of credibility to the author? Just in case we were bothered?! If that's the case why do they also try to add a funny tag to it to make themselves sound cool, quirky or interesting as well? Something like 'Sara also likes to collect fingernails.' Personally, I prefer the more rare ones that state something along the lines of 'After years of travelling, photojournalism and interacting with different communities, Simon has gained wider insights into the cultural world. Simon also owns a pet pig on his family farm in Montana' They don't need to tell us about their academia. I've genuinely nothing against anyone who has/does/will gone/go to University. It just seems unnecessary to mention it at the bottom of an article. Pretty much like this whole comment; which is why it is in this thread Bamboo attended Sheffield, Durham, Manchester, Plymouth, Leeds, Liverpool, Bristol, Goldsmiths, Falmouth, Loughborough & Nottingham Universities - all whilst friends were studying there. He states his ability to join them at many social events was integral to all of them successfully obtaining their degrees. Bamboo is naturally afraid of Giant Pandas but supports breeding programs for the continued existence of the species. He also owns an antique Rocking Horse.

Yea, he's a bit of a prick, I've heard wait a minute..... Even Royal Mail would have delivered this wedding by now Just a thought, I know a 15000 seater venue that has 15 minutes free at about 3:45 Monday if it helps. Plus there would be plenty of witnesses and it'll have an exotic touch of the Orient about it

Great Story for the Grandkids. You seem pretty chilled about it! Also (pedantry alert) "We were due to get married and walk down the isle at 2:30pm. I thought journalists were supposed to be able to spell? I'm just getting old.

Well they do, just the common definition of Aisle, not the church definition.
