32nd anniversary of the tiananmen square massacre. Not trivial, obviously, but it’s astonishing how the CCP have erased it from history within China so much so many of their younger generations don’t know of it

I’ve just spent the last  half hour looking through this photo essay, which was fascinating and morbid. Fair warning, some of the pictures are not safe for life, let alone work

An interesting bullet point which I didn’t quite realise until tonight either, was that those protesting were protesting for democracy, but it was for the democratic right to keep to the stricter Marxist principles of ‘old’ communism, rather than the neo-liberal route the Chinese government had started to go down in the early 90’s and have continued ever since

Fatally damaged a damaged tooth late on Thursday. In a nutshell what’s left of it is going to have to come out and I couldn’t get an emergency apt on Friday. Now, it’s starting to ache and mildly hurt. Today may be the anniversary of D-Day but for this troublesome toof 09.00 is its fucking D-Day.

Feel your pain LL. Did you try the dentist by the Moonrakers or the one by West Swindon Asda?

Is it just me or are men's shirts becoming an odd shape..

I'm reasonably fit (but as its all cycling its all below the waist) plus I don't do a manual job so I am quite puny in terms of upper body (albeit a bit of a gut) yet even a large shirt seems to be incredibly tight across the shoulders on me....

Yes I agree it's like you have to go up a size to compensate unless of course you want it really tight fitting

I go to Eldene. Booked in for 09.00 Monday. Just hoped they’d get a cancellation on Friday but alas no.

Priti Patel not pronouncing her g's. Not sure if it's a speech impediment or an affectation but it annoys me more than it should.

I was fortunate enough to visit the square. A very surreal experience and the tour operators gave a much more balanced side of what happened than i thought they did. On a separate note they fucking hated the japanese

All done. Bit sore but could have been worse. I’d fractured what was left of the tooth above the gum line to just below. So after four jabs of the needle a couple of attempts with the pliers, out it came with the filling still stuck to it. The root is still there but being as it has been filled there is no pain and no need to take it out unless it causes an issue. Quick drill to take away some sharpe bits and Bobs your uncle. See how this plays out.

I’m very jealous. There’s a lot of China that looks absolutely fascinating - but their government is abhorrent

Got a mate who teaches in China. This summer he's doing terracotta warriors, great wall, forbidden city, tiannamen square and, in his words, 'some tombs of dead emperors'. Not jealous at all.

TV game show presenters who say ‘give it up’ when some bozo has just left.

Who actually starts these stupid fucking phrases?
