You do understand what click bait is don't you? It worked on you by virtue of being so stupid you just had to share it.

That would actually be the first time I''ve seen that tactic used. For the writer's sake, I hope you're right.

It's the same logic behind making an advert so fucking annoying you get angry at the telly. Memories accompanied by strong emotions sink in further http://www.memory-key.com/memory/emotion

I suppose I may have fallen for it.
In my defence though, I do see so much ridiculously stupid shit online that it becomes difficult to distinguish between genuine stupidity and false stupidity.

Talking of clickbait, I saw an article the other day (accompanied by a picture of a tennis player) entitled "50 Sexist Female Celebrities"
Not sure if that was a brilliant bait and switch or just shoddy proofreading.

Buzzfeed for example is basically click bait spam. 10 WAYS YOU DIDNT KNOW YOU COULD HOLD A POTATO or Christ knows what. South Park did a decent bit about 'Sponsored Content' in the last season. Ha, I've seen that too! I'm getting a lot of fun placeholders at the moment, so they say stuff like "Did you know there are lots of horny women in insert area here?" It sounds like a good place to be.

Not ones for Indian women with massive norks? Oh yeah sorry, that's just Reg The worst thing was the other day when I typed in Indian women with massive norks and was subsequently plagued by adverts for Reg..

Not ones for Indian women with massive norks? Oh yeah sorry, that's just Reg Sounds interesting. I once used to work with an Indian lady with massive norks. She was very tactile, when I left the job she gave me a big hug and said keep in touch as she'd do anything for me. I think cultural differences were probably at play, in our mutual interpretation of "anything"

It's actually really not anymore - they very quickly turned into one of the best news outlets in the world. Look at their recent hires, look at the political and breaking news coverage - they're leading the way in online news at the moment.

They do seem to do a lot of news investigations with the BBC?

Not denying it doesn't still do what it's always done, but it's not just clickbait spam. They've invested massively in news in the last 18 months and have some of the best news content/journalists in the country, without doubt. Janine Gibson from the Guardian, Heidi Blake from the Times (her of Qatar World Cup fraud scoop fame)... they're 100% leading the way in online news.
