Of the 2000 squad who'd get in now? Seaman, shearer neville and scholes, possibly mcmannaman? And the reserves are much worse

Keegan took Dennis Wise, Jason Wilcox, Ray Parlour and Nick Barmby to Euro 2000. That was half our midfield.
McManaman did OK in the first game, but he was passed it as well.
Most of the good players were either too old or too young.
Very poor squad.

well now we have 1 real decent striker who is currently injured.a poor choice of keepers.a midfield with the 2 best players who dont gel, barry injured, hargreaves injured.crocked centre backs.nothing of any real quality at right back.

Many football historians in the UK are 2000-deniers. They claim that Euro 2000 never happened. However, he did beat the Germans on neutral territory that Summer.

They were shit as well.
Exactly the same problem we had, same squad as Euro 96, just older and shitter.
But they were even worse off because they didnt have the young players comming through that England did.

I do hope Carragher isn't in the squad ahead of Dawson... The two have been miles apart for at least the last 12 months, if not longer

I completely agree. Unless he takes both - Carragher as right back cover. BBC sports rumours page says the Mirror believes Brown and Neville will miss out. Mind you, that's the Mirror, so won't be true. Defenders I'd take: Cole, Baines, Ferdinand, Terry, King, Dawson, Johnson, Brown.

I'd take Jagielka instead of King (too injury prone) or Brown (whose rubbish), Jagielka can play anywhere in the back 4 and in midfield as well. His form end of season for Everton has been very good.

Yeah, wheras King's form has been really shit No mention of Kings form being shit, just concerned his plastic knees may give way and leave the squad a man down, hence the reason I put King (too injury prone).
