So that score line did actually happen then? It did. My gramp used to go on about it all the time. I think it must've been his favourite bit of football trivia.

So that score line did actually happen then? Forfar are my Scottish team - FACT! I've seen them play and everything..not against East Fife though Yes it did....I've seen East Fife play, but wouldn't call myself a fan. Is the fact Forfar are known as The Loons, anything to do with your support?

I imagine Bob's Orange is dancing around his living room right now. Motherwell were 4-2 down at half-time.
ha ha! Not quite, was watching the man city game so just seen this thread! Hearts only drew with Dundee united and so the peg sellers and Motherwell will represent Scotland in the Europa league next season, along with Dundee united. Hearts have been rancid this season!

No, it is a fantastic nickname though. We just happened to be in Scotland a few years ago and stayed just outside Forfar and there was a game on. It would have been rude not to go. It's the only time I've ever been to a game when a flock of Oystercatchers flew over the ground I have a strange facination with Scottish football. I think it's something to do with wanting to actually visit the places which for years were just strange names read out at the end of the football results. Scotland's a fantastic place as well (shame it's full of Jocks ) Here's my one bit of Forfar trivia (apart from the nickname)..Forfar play at Station Park but the nearest station is actually 14 miles away (Dundee or Arbroath). Now THAT'S interesting.

I read something recently about Lucas begging Everton not to put a price on his head as that would bollocks any chance of a move to Motherwell. The standard up there is plummeting all the time, I wouldn't be surprised to see him being one of the bigger names in Scotland fairly soon. If Boyd does come to the English Prem he will be totally out of his depth.

the trouble with Scottish football is it's too much like Sunday pub league football, hence the 6-6 scoreline
