TOWN'S GREATEST XI: Now pick your top boss

SWINDON Town have been blessed with only a handful of eras in which success was commonplace at the County Ground.

I've voted for people who featured from my 1st match attended onwards. So it's Glenn Hoddle for me.

Lou Macari for me. Picked the club by the scruff of the neck when it was floundering in the 4th Division and dragged it kicking and screaming to the verge of the 1st Division (Premier League as it now is) mixed in were some fantastic, unforgettable Cup victories. And along the way I had some of the best times of my life. Crazy, happy days. If it hadn't been for him the Ardiles and Hoddle eras would never have happened.

Agree with every word of that, he completely turned the club around and the football we saw under Ardiles and Hoddle would never have happened if Macari hadn't been here, fantastic years.

Really I think Bert Head who not only rescued the club when they were heading for oblivion but then discovered the brightest crop of youngsters the club has probably ever seen(Summerbee Hunt Rogers Woodruff Trollope) many of whose subsequent transfers gave the club financial stability.

There's certainly a case for Bert, but Danny Williams put the silverware in the cabinet.

The only ? over Macari would be the dodgy deals....
