I'm on board with this thinking.  Dr Who is shit.
No, you are.

Patrick Troughton was excellent. I can't remember William Hartnell. I'm a little bit diappointed by the current one, althuogh his companion more than compensates.

Bump.

First part of Sarah Jane Adventures two parter "Death of the Doctor" is on today. It has some rather exciting guest appearances.

Speaking of which there's an event in the library....15th November.  Meet a dalek and an alien, with a drawing competition.

I think it was aimed at 10 year olds, but I did reckon fB should give it a go.

I think he enters stuff like that (the competitions, not the 10 year olds) because he knows he's guaranteed to win.

Entering 10 year olds is full of win too.

Here's the details...

On 13 November 2010 Daleks and other galactic creatures will be invading the Central Library.  There are a whole day's worth of sci-fi festivities starting at 10am and finishing at 3pm.  This includes a meet and greet with Doctor Who aliens, Dalek colouring competition for children, a sci-fi fancy dress competition for children and sci-fi writing talks with local author David Johnson.  For further information on the day's programme, contact the Central Library on 01793 463798

Think fB might just about get away with it....but Jayo I'm thinking you might not pass the CRB clearance.

Don't like the sound of this...

It's one concept that belongs on the small screen.  Yates is a good shout to develop it but he's already talking about a radical transformation, which smacks of the last effort a turkey if ever there was one.

If they're going to do a film it needs to be done properly, which most likely means taking it away from the BBC drama department and handing it over to people who know what they're doing. They've also got the option of making it totally separate to the TV series, there doesn't even need to be very much in the way of a crossover - they could have a new Doctor or bring back one of the old ones pretty easily.

Will be good to see it on the big screen with a big budget. Not sure Hollywood will try and fuck with it too much as it's already a pretty big series on BBC America - it's watched by well over a million people.
