yes, but then we'd be buying him rather than offering him a contract.

No. We'd offer him a contract then, if he accepted the terms, we'd agree a few with leeds and buy him.

but buying him would then involve offering him a contract. plus if other clubs came in for him and also offered him a contract it would be no different if he was a free agent

Think abouit it Dave, why is Billy P. not signing, and we never accepted any bid, although he can go on a free in the summer.

Not saying he's been bad, but i reckon he's been the weakest of our starting 11 recently

Agreed, he's been below par by his standards... Annoyingly so.

perhaps a tactic would be to bring him on at 90 minutes to save on annoyance

I'm fairly convinced that we'll try to buy him if we get up. He sees himself as a championship player, and I think I agree with him.

Tad worried about his drinking rep though, that's more than once that I've read about a booze-related issue at Leeds. Plus he needs to work on his temper - he looks permanently up for a scrap on the pitch. I love aggression but if it can't be channelled then the player is more of a hindrance than a help.

Grin I know - doesn't fit the stereotype does it.
