I see the same faces of fans home and away no one knows me and I know no-one but despite this our club is our centre point and those around me have a common interest and in that forms a bond, a common interest.
It is only a football club some would say but with that comes an emotional bond and joins us all together and when someone close to the cub dies we should honour them as one of our own.
Very well said and echoes my thoughts exactly. Duke of Banbury, I wish you well in the coming weeks - it will be tough but you've got a lot of people you don't know wishing you well as well as those close to you.

despite all the bickering and rows on here, the posters in general are a fine bunch. When people have hard times that they share with the forum, the wishes of goodwill are genuine and heartwarming.
sorry to hear of your loss banbury.

My condolences Banbury-I am dreading this happening too-my dad took me when I was 10 years old and is now 91 and not in good health but I believe our club is something that bonds fathers and sons even after life.Hope that doesnt sound "holier than thou" at all.

My deepest heart felt condolances Banbers.
I know exactly how you feel, my dad got diagnosed this week with probable bowel cancer and a huge aortic aneurysm, so we are basically sitting on a ticking time bomb with him and he could pass any day so its down to us to make his last days more bearable and I fucking love watching his face light up when I tell him the Town result (hes been a fan for 60 years and it never leaves you). His first ever game watching Swindon was coincidentally against Norwich back in the very early 50's.
Heres to a great result today for the memory of your father and to the future.
There are no words that can make you feel better at this extremely hard point of your life, you have my heart felt sympathies. Just stay as strong as you can.

Sorry to hear the news Banbury.
I'm glad to hear you are taking you little one with you, hope it helps you through the day somehow. And its how football teams should be chosen. Handed on from one generation to the next.
Hope your dad has a fair few more Town induced smiles too JJ. Not really sure what else to say.

Condolences, Banbury. I'm new here and although our paths have never crossed, we are all reds and you have my sympathies.
As for this gesture by the board, wow, what fantastic people we have running our club now.

Thanks for your comments but its not for me to take anything away from Banburys plight which is much worse than mine, but I do not wish this on anyone but life does carry on and we have to be strong and supportive to those that need it.
COME ON SWINDON do Banbury's dad proud and beat the canaries today, give him a great send off lads.
