Thank you all for your messages of goodwill. I am starting to think I have a real problem on my hands. I've always believed in supporting your local team. My dad is Swindon born and bred and a season ticket holder for 40+ years. I'm also a Swindoner and went to every home game from 91-2007. However, real life took over and I now live in north Shropshire and am going to be a dad, hence this thread. My problem is this: do I make my first born a Swindon fan because that's what I want him/her to be, do I urge it to support its most local football league club (Crewe), or do I let it make its own decision?

Make him a Town fan before he's old enough to realise he has a choice. He can sue you for abuse when he grows up, but like as not he won't kick the habit. |

Town no other choice, My daughter was born up here, and should by rights support palace, (although everyone else round here is Chelsea) Have taken her home and away this year and she loves it, particularly telling the other kids, who have never heard of swindon, half the class "support" us now, there must be some very confused Chelsea supporting parents round here! |
