As I think I said Thats how slow my internet connection is at the moment!!! In addition, I believe that was Simon Cox debut coming on as sub and he famously said he'll be banging down the managers or words to those effect, which lead Fred Elliot and alot of others to conclude he was a jumped up tosser who was going to be crap. We did beat Bristol City on Sky mind you. The worse had to be that FA Cup whatever round it was replay against Notts County - the worst sky game anyway, possibly of all time That scum game

He did sound like a bit of a jumped up tosser at the time though in fairness. And I think all Fred said was 'you've talked the talk, now prove you can walk the walk' or something along those lines, a la Chief Wiggum. I think Cox proved he could 'walk the walk' many times over. Agree about the Notts and Oxford games. I nearly threw the TV out the window on both occasions. The Lincoln game was a good one. I suppose the best ever televised Town game has to be the '93 play off final. There's been a few other decent ones in between as well. If I'm watching a game live on TV as opposed to live at the ground, I get about 100 times more nervous. God alone knows why.

I'm exactly the same....the Lincoln game I had to go out for a walk at half time to calm down.

I was just thinking about that. It was early the following season, at home to Yeovil (0-1) and the Portuageezers were loitering in the background and Rufus Brevit (sp) was their spokesman but did not answer a single question. It makes my blood run cold just to think of what might have happened.
Rufus f*cking Brevit.......I agree. Makes you realise how far we have come.

I was going to have to miss the game as I'm on holiday up lincoln way. Looks like my daughter and me may be the only Town fans watching the game in a boozer up those parts.

I was living in the USA at the time. I took the afternoon off work, all excited, having told all of my colleagues about what I was doing. Got home, changed into my Swindon shirt and called Comcast and paid $15-20 for the pleasure of watching the most awful display I have ever seen from a Swindon team (and I've seen shome shite!) I am mentally scared from that game!

I made the stupid decision to turn down an evening with a lady to watch that Notts County match. 15 minutes I changed my mind!!
I won 15 quid on the Lincoln match. At half time the tefs very own Yeovil Red decided it would be a good idea for us all to chip in a quid and pull out a players name. Next Swindon player to score. I drew the cock!
