An affectionate name for our hardcore older fans who travel hell and highwater to every away game, look out for badge lady! I used to be a dribbler I suppose! At one time I'd done all 92 ground watching the Terriers but I packed in religiously traveling to every away game about ten years ago. I still have a season ticket but these days I just pick and choose away games that take my fancy. I'll be at Gillingham in early March mainly because I've not been for years but after that, who knows? I've always really enjoyed the London matches. Train to Kings Cross from Leeds, few drinks before the game, a few more after, up Brick Lane for a Curry, then home on the last train half cut, great stuff! Over the years I've met some strange and wonderful football fans from all over the place. Like the Bristol Rovers fan who lives on Holy Island in Northumberland and has a season ticket and the Hartlepool fan who lives in Newton Abbott in Devon and travels to every game. Now if they were Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea fans then maybe I could understand it more but Jeeeesus, League One clubs? No way! The power of the beautiful game hey? Or are we all just f**kwits?

I'm going to head to this one. On a 4 match away winning streak currently saying that I've seen us lose comfortably in the past two seasons at Huddersfield, but fancy us to get something tomorrow. Where's everyone going before the game?

OK but where are the best places for a confrontational drink? For example if people are reading this and fancy taking over "your pub" and potentially instigating a ruck where should they head for?
Good Evening We used to have a fantastic and quite famous hooligan pub just down from the railway station called the Crescent but alas it is no longer A quality pre and post match pub is the Vulcan if you want to mix with some old school fans. The Gas club is for the happy clappers. Unfortunately like many other clubs we have become a bit happy clappy in recent years with the cheerleaders and drumming etc, though I think the Mexican wave was tongue in cheek, though still cringeworthy. The tiny away followings from there being so many southern teams doesnt help. The atmosphere does alter however, when the bigger clubs/followings are in Town. Hopefully Swindon will bring a few tomorrow due to the importance of the fixture this season. See you in the Vulcan

Why are you so hard up this year Luci, out of interest? Saving for something?
Want to start saving and reduced my loan repayment period down to two years (only got one year left now) so I'm hardcore paying it off! Come Feb 2011 I'll be free of it! Leaves me with bugger all spare unfortunately but hopefully worth it.

I'm starting in the head of steam near the station for my first, round about 12.45, after that i'll prob try the jimi hendrix pub, ace tripper suggested and then follow my feet.

What would you regard as a good away following tomorrow just out of interest?

Come out of the 'King's (Jimi's) Head' down the side of the square, past the George Hotel and turn left, walk along that road under the railway arches and at the traffic lights you'll find another real ale gem 'The Sportsman'. Owned by a mate of mine so take it easy! Might drop in there myself at some point so if you see and old giffer in a fishtail parka, it'll be me. Come and have a word or two!

Take more than 3 though, i've recently been christened swindons thirstiest fan, i'm not too sure whether to be proud or offended The beer up t'north holds many qualities my friend, one of them being the ability to turn the ugliest lasses in the entire world into Cheryl Cole. Why not come test that theory with me tomorrow mate? I promise it's truly amazing! Trouble is you might end up missing the match and coming to your senses at about 5pm only to reaiise the Terriers have hammered your lads 6-0 and your 'afternoon escort' is in reality Jo Brand!
