My personal highlight of the game was when Austin ran into the pitch covers Smiley

Pleased to see O'Brien grow into the game. I guess he came off because he was gassed, and not because he was injured?

His Swindon Town career has now begun.

O'Brien did get into the game more. I think he put it out of touch with his first touch.

Good to see a winger running at players, no step overs, pure pace.

fingers crossed he gets better 'n all

Was another good game today. Much like Orient Brigton looked to play some good football but didn't really create a huge amount of chances. I thought we started the game very poorly. Passing wasn't there and it was all long ball up to Austin and Paynter. We backed off them and let them play.

Once we got the ball down and got into the game we were a real threat. O'Brien put some good balls into the box which perhaps a few of could have had a better result from Billy and Charlie. Didn't have the best view of the penalty so will look at the highlights and judge then. Brez made some good saves and it could have been 3-0 before Brighton got their goal. We backed off and let them play again and it was a good bit of quality from their winger to get the equaliser.

Thought that if we went out in the 2nd and stepped up a gear then the game would be there for the taking and I was right. We came out and started slowly again but once we got going we played some fantastic stuff. The 2nd goal was a brilliant move and great ball from JP to find Austin. Great stuff. Then we sat back and invited them to get a goal. Not what I like to see us do and when we did break we looked dangerous it was just a shame that we didn't get the men forward more often.

Did we deserve to win today? On the balance of play probably not and on another day it would have been 2-2 or 2-1 to Brighton or 3 or 4 goals for us. Just one of those games. I think it evens itself out and we'v had a few games back in September where we should have won but only drew.

Back in the top 6! Happy days. Really hope we can go to Charlton and get a point now. As for Brighton I think they'll be OK. Not a bad side they just need to get a win or 2 to get the confidence up.

Brighton looked a decent enough side to me, but something clearly isn't right there.

I think they should sack their manager and get a new one in.

I thought a draw would have been a fair result. But to quote every football manager who has ever lived, the sign of a good team is those that can win playing poorly.

Greer didn't have the best of games, hopefully a blip.

Billy Paynter is built like a brick shithouse. Austin, JPM, Cuthbert and Douglas were all very very good.

Agree with most of that, but Greer was fucking awful.  Totally missed the ball in the first half in the penalty area, could easily have had a pen against him for the handball, gave away a needless freekick on the edge of the box and that's just in the first half!  Second half him and Lescs did their best to gift Brighton something, let's hope he is having a mid-season blip, we need him at his best, commanding.  Cuthbert will be the buy of the season.

Greer was alright but had his scary moments. Remember that Cuthbert has been very good this season and probably makes Greer look average. When you compare Cuthbert/Greer to Ifil/Aljofree you soon realise it's not all that bad at all.

I think today's game was a classic example of the difference a year makes. We would have lost this last season. The gayboys were a dirty, whinging bunch of cheating cunts - virtually all made from the same mould of arch gayboy Forster. The referee was a complete cock in the 2nd half where decsisions seemed to be made completely at random. How the hell we didn't get a penatly for yet another shove on Paynter I'll never know. I thought their goal was offside and Forster should have been booked - what a wanker and not for the first time.
Paynter was MOM for me and what a great bit of football from Town for Charlie's goal - how well did he take it. Oh and thank God for Lucas. Cuthbert was also brilliant. Greer was below par and JFL was his usual mix fo great and dogshit.
Glad to get the 3 points and we're in a great position in the league.

Not sure what is up with JFL, one moment he's class and then he just goes to sleep. Over the course of today's game he was good but then at the end he fucks up twice which nearly cost us dearly. Wonder if its losing concentration or a lack of confidence, I noticed Lucas and Greer giving him encouragement after one of the fuck ups so maybe its something they're aware of and working on.

Amankwaah going off highlighted our lack of options in defence, which are basically zero. With Kennedy injured, having Morrison out on loan seems strange to say the least. Another strange subs bench, with two wingers, two forwards yet only the one defender.

The last 15 minutes were a real worry, its the first time I've seen us collapse like that this season - it was like a replay of all those games last season when we blew it towards the end. We seemed to be sitting far too deep and encouraging Brighton to push up, rather than continuing the way we had been playing.

I thought we did ok.

We showed promise, last season we wouldn't of won that game. Shows how far we've come. we got three points, so happy with that.

I think there are two ways to look at it. Like you, I thought that it resembled the way we played under Malpas, where a one goal lead never looked secure. On the other hand, Brighton threw absolutely everything at us and we nearly caught them out on the break 2 or 3 times because they committed so many players forward. If it hadn't been for a couple of slips from JFL then Brighton wouldn't have actually created much in that late spell despite all the pressure they put on us.

I thought we played OK today, my main concern is that Brighton had the lion's share of the ball.....leading up to their goal we played too deep.
