But then the Dangerous Dogs act doesn't cover the USA. Generally I agree with you though. I don't like it when I'm walking through the town gardens with my 2 year old nephew and people have dogs off their leads, even if they're just little unimposing dogs. The little bastard is fearless and likes doing a beeline towards them, which is worrying when you have no idea what the dog is like.

There was some 30 year old chav cunt who lived near me and he had a pitbull. He used to take it out for a piss without a lead and the thing was fucking nuts. When he has had it on a lead, it's practically trying to tear it's own head off in a bid to get at shit.
I love dogs and have had many, but pitbulls like that should be illegal.

Any dog can be a potential threat, the worst are collies.
If you have an owner who is a dickhead, you'll get a dog that's dangerous. I've had loads of dogs, mainly staffies, and they're the softest dogs you could meet. But put them in the hands of some cunt who wants to put them in a studded collar and reward them for aggression and that's what you'll get.
Dogs shouldn't be banned, owners should.

Really? I grew up with a border collie and it was the coolest dog ever, well, on a par with my current dog of course (which is part collie as well).

How comes no ones is blaming the police for this one?
Someone reported them to the police for breeding dogs illegally. The police have stated they should have investigated the report but they didn't and they don't know why (they are investigating this).
Doesn't matter what laws you have in place to stop this sort of thing if the police don't enforce them.
Personally I don't like dogs, especially dogs not on leads. When you've got some big fucking dog running full speed at you with its teeth showing, having the owner shout out "its ok he's really friendly" ain't much fucking comfort. If your dog can't control itself from running up to strangers, it should be on a lead at all times.

It's the owners who are at fault, but pitbulls & the like are bred to fight, so thats what they do. Scorpions sting, snakes bite, tigers bite & so do pit bulls. It's what they are meant to do. They should therefore be treated the same as the aforementioned animals & not let loose with people around.

Really? I grew up with a border collie and it was the coolest dog ever, well, on a par with my current dog of course (which is part collie as well).
Collies are brilliant with children, a friend of mine use to let his family dog take his children to junior school, he would shepherd them to keep them on the pavement and wait outside school when it was time for them to go home. But Collies are very possessive, if you made any action (in the case of the family I knew) the dog would go mentle and try to bite you to bits, it was only being protective of course. There is a law in this country that dogs should be kept on a lead and supervised, those breads who are known to attack should be muzzled, but what do you do when it is with your children in your own house. Rotts and Pits are beautiful dogs and great pets but they can turn at any time. They are not house dogs but working dogs and should be kennelled outside. Staffies are fantastic dogs and get a load of undeserved press. Anyone who has owned a Staffie will know they are soft as shit, especially with children. I wouldn't trust a Jack Russell mind you, they can be nasty little buggers. I was attacked recently by a dog I've known for a long time, a German Shepherd, I was sitting in a mates house having a cup of tea and dog was being friendly. I got up to leave and as I did I rattled my keys, the dog went mental and bit through my shirt and jacket and drew blood only a rugby tackle by the owner stopped serious injury. The reason it attacked: It was a rescue dog and had been locked up by its previous owner and hit with a chain, the sound of my keys rattling just hit a sad nerve with the dog. All dogs should be supervised when children are around, you never know what will spark off an attack.

Dogs see people in dog terms. Either as a leader in the pack or otherwise. I've never known a car be convicted for causing death by dangerous driving. Plenty of people who get behind the wheel yes.
