If a scotch player earned a penalty by diving and that penalty got you into the World Cup Finals, you wouldn't be saying that.

I know it would never happen, as scotland will never get that close to a World Cup Finals.

Diving is part of the game and has been forever. It's highlighted more now because of the tv coverage. If they're caught by the ref they should be carded, nothing else.

There's a very real danger of sanitising football so much that it becomes like any other sport. One of the things that makes football the greatest game on Earth is the talking points and debate that surrounds every game played, together with the blind bias of supporters for, or against particular decisions.

And that's the way I like it.

I bet you I would still be saying that. Its a fucking disgrace. I fined someone on my Sunday league team for diving the other week!

I'm the same. Football just wouldn't be the same if we couldn't have endless arguments about questionable decisions made by the ref, it wouldn't be half the game it is if the ref got every decision 100% and there weren't any grey areas. What the fuck would we talk about here and in the pub?
