Is it a theme park about the vicissitudes of 200 years coal mining in the West Country ?

Possibly?

Shaktar as in Shaktar Donetsk....means miners, as in coal miners.

They're playing Toulouse in the Europa League, somewhat randomly on ITV 4 tonight.

Here's a little something from the much missed Joe Strummer...

Yes Reg...was a big part of the area for generations..........alot of the mines are used for storage now.....deeds and the such that have to be kept for years by law.
On my travels ive been to a few and got to saty was really suprised that the area had such a big link with it....also the Forest of Dean i believe had a biggish mining industry of some sort....

Good find Leefer...I used to go down there as a nipper visiting family, and remember the slag heaps....to which the name Batch should append.  After Aberfan though, I daresay folk saw them in a less romantic way.

The ranks of miners cottages, still had outside bathrooms and lavs, when I first started going there....I'd imagine they're quite nicely converted these days.

There is an ace network of cycle tracks around the Forest of Dean, which link up many bits of old pit railway, tramway etc. the free miners were still eking a living when I was last there, maybe 6 years ago.
