They will crumble soon I think. He'll be off if they get relegated.

I wonder how much spare cash MacAnthony actually has, as he's heavily involved in timeshare in Spain, which has collapsed in the last year

That has actually really surprised me! I know they arent doing too well but he has fone a lot of good for that club and i dont really think with their squad and no matter who they had in charge it really makes no difference for their chance of survival.

im supprised with that, thought posh have a very good team, possibley another season in league 1 would have done them good rather that 2 successive promotions.

5Live reported earlier on he had the second lowest budget in the division. Don't know how accurate that is, but if it is, then perhaps not.

Also seems a little odd to sack him after they'd lost away to Newcastle - one side full of players just come down from the Prem, the other full of players still trying to make the step up from League 1 and with positions in the table to match. Did the Peterboro board really expect to get a result from that one?

Exactly. Either Peterborough are loonies or there's more to this than on-field performance.

That could be true, but Peterborough outspent everyone to get out of Div II apparently not being within a percentage of gate receipts was reported somewhere, not sure about DiV I, but a lot of money had been spent.  What is enough for the Championship?

No idea, but spending big in League Two 2 years ago does not necessarily equate to a team that can compete in the Championship. And, for all I know, that might have been Ferguson's choice - to stick with the lads who got him promoted.

There's got to be more to this than results. Back to back promotions, then the bullet?

Think Nemo might have it with his "loonies" assessment - remember this is a club that employs Barry Fry as Director of Football Smiley

Sky are linking Oxford's manager to the role http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5686212,00.html

That would be mildly amusing.
