I can't believe this is still dragging on and looks like it will only get bigger with other media picking up the story.

Amankwaah was obviously a twat for what he said during the game, and even if he had a good reason to deny the claims at first it was a bad decision to do so. Harris hasn't done himself any favours with his response to Amankwaah's latest statement about the racial abuse, even if his account is correct he could have been diplomatic about it.

Why couldn't Harris have just issued a public acceptance of Amankwaah's apology? It would all be over and done with by now if he had, instead he seems to have made it worse. It looks probable Amankwaah was referring, in part at least, to racial chants from the Millwall fans - the last thing Millwall need at the moment is to be brought up on racial charges.

Here's hoping someone will see sense and get them to shake hands, make up and put this firmly in the past.

I don't think any player would play the race card if thwere wasn't an element of truth obviously Harris is not going to admit to this, all hell would break loose if he did, but I think it is obvious that one responded to the other's jibe, whoever is right or wrong, whoever said what, now is the time to draw a line under it all and get on with playing football......until the 2 teams meet again.

Manky was clearly upset by something, as it was him who wouldn't let it go and tried to carry on the argument - not normally what you would expect if it had been him who started the name calling.

He normally seems such a calm guy that I personally believe Harris must have said something to touch a nerve. If you were Harris, would you admit to your Millwall faithful that you were sorry for abusing a black bloke.

Whatever, a pro footballer should be able to ignore any verbals that come their way during a game.

That Millwall forum thread does have someone stating they were shouting 'only here for asylum' at Amankwaah. Not sure if the guy is on a wind up or what.

That is definitely true, I could hear that from the opposite corner of the ground, though that was after the second red card. Maybe it was happening before aswell but not as loud.

The problem for Amankwaah is that he has now had three different versions of his story. Even if the latest one is the gospel truth, it doesnt look like it because of his initial denials.

I still don't get this.
I imagine that it went something like Harris insulting Amankwaah including a mention of the colour of his skin, prompting a retort about one bollock.
Depending on what was actually said both comments could be contrued as factually correct, &/ or insulting.
However whilst it is generally accepted that the Harris type of alleged comment is racist in nature, I don't know what the problem is with Amankwaah's type of comment. It's not as if Harris has not recovered, he has. In actual fact he also is very public about the illness he had, & is shown on that release on the Millwall site in a t shirt saying "keep your eye on the ball" (singular).
Banter & taking the piss is what happens on the football field. The only reason that this is blown up out of all proportion is because a section of the Millwall fans are a bunch of racist thugs even if Harris isn't.

Seems like they're both in the wrong, but neither club is being well-served by having it all out in public like this. Like Rob says, what goes on on the pitch should stay there, does no-one any favours to have a public slanging match like this. They should both grow up and shut up.

Maybe I am being biased, but it does seem as though Amankwaah was happy at first to let it all go but Harris took it all public.

It'd be interesting to see if this 'footage' does show Harris trying to bite Amankwaah's nose. That'll put a different spin on things.

I think the PFA should get involved, get these two in the room and sort it out as the longer it continues, the worse it gets for both players and teams.

But both players have to be willing though - seems the FA & PFA are involved now

Why don't they get the UN and Mr Obama involved as well.  Isn't this all a bit over the top?
