My nan has been hypnotised to give up loads of stuff which has worked. Only trouble is she substitutes what she gave up for something else equally bad.

I was hypnotised to stop smoking and it worked for about 8 months.I didnt feel hypotised though,it felt like a bloke speaking to you in a silly voice while I had my eyes shut.

Hypnosis is merely a way of relaxing someone to the point of being totally open to the power of suggestion - perfectly reasonable to assume this can happen to anyone willing to be totally open to it and people who are generally of suggestable characters. If you don't want to be hypnotised and you are fairly strong minded, you won't be.
